It's an interesting debate happening. This issue happened last week twice with two people I know from feeder alliance/hunter alliance. One wanted compensation, the other I'm not sure (don't think she did).

Curious, as one of the major traders, what are your views on this, given you say not to expect compensation.

I ask this as I wonder what will happen to the honest small time traders who make a big deal but will be forced to take a loss if they are the unlucky ones who get left holding the bag (ie. the trader of the illicit can't get compensation from who he got it from originally?) - this statement holds for both the last trader on the chain and the last buyer in the chain.

What a terrible system SE has in place. I wish they could delete illicit cards on the fly automatically.

Well it's just like investing $$$. You pour your $$$ into bonds to generate an honest return. 1 day, a few of your bonds default and don't get back the principal o_0

Here's the REAL PROBLEM tho. if ppl were to get compensated, what's to stop ppl saying "here gimme ur card for catalog. Oops, the card u gave me was illicit and jus cropped up a random illicit msg from google or something". Everybody has illicit cards its jus that 95% of them won't turn illicit. And when they do... well, it jus sucks lol. Just the inherent risks of trading. Same thing as investing.

Cards get cycled all the time. You never know what's a legit or hacked card. It just happens.

You sound like a BlueTanuki convert. Maybe his message is catching on.

I think BlueTanuki does have some good points. We had a vast pm conversation about his views because I took offense to his saying that anyone trading high quantity stones was basically hacking. I then explained to him how it does not take long to build up a great quantity of stones through several tiny trades.

Really nothing he is saying is wrong other than placing the blame on the wrong people

This. Trading is like playing the stock market. If you put all your money in a company that goes bankrupt you just made a bad investment and have to start over. If you buy apple stock today and it crashes down to $50 a share you just lost a ton of money. Nothing else happens

Post I agree with three of you drm0j0, geo, alpha.

What happens to the last person in the chain as far as the last trader though?

In this case people already demanding full compensation or mentioning a ban. The same thing happened with the domuf situation.

What if it starts happening to a lot of honest traders given the market was flooded with these high end Nights cards and it looks like they are starting to pop up with messages (last week or so one of the Hunter/Feeder Alliance members with the Andro).

In this case I personally think Kando is suspicious as a new member of the forum, low rep and already engaging in many high roller trades. It doesn't mean he is guilty though - see how the tides turned on the Domuf situation a week or something ago. Up to the mods to sort it out I guess.

The last person gets stuck. Really, if the last person gets some sort of compensation it hurts the person before. Then he has the right to ask for compensation. So he finds the guy he traded with. Then that guy has the right to ask for compensation.

If the people are cool enough to share the loss good for them. I do not believe they owe it though. It is the risk of trading that we have all accepted by doing so. And that we applies to every single person who has traded in the game.

Post I just checked his profile. He ranked 1424 in elite last week, if he had all these nice cards, shouldn't he rank higher? Just some observation.

Good points.

As far as the forum rules is "full" compensation required by the mods?

This guy right here explained it perfectly. xD

IN GENERAL, assuming you are on neutral terms with the trader that sent you the illicit card, you could ask for compensation but they have no obligation to do so. In my experience, I just tell them to cut me a slightly better deal the next time we trade (if it's from a high rep and trustworthy trader) If it's from a "Shady dude" then the loss is all on you. Never have I reported it to the mods tho as most of the time it really isn't their fault nor is it yours. Fuck it, we need somebody to blame so it's SE's fault for not fixing this problem lol.
