Spotting giveaway investigation

In the end any card you get from anyone else is suspect. The only way you can be sure is if you self caught it. So it really doesn't matter what people say here. One day in the future you could be banned. Accept it as a risk. Enjoy the game while it lasts.

Cheers

Post I got a Mighty Sonic SBanshee from him and it's properly skilled.
And I saw in his rep that he traded and got this Mighty Sonic SBanshee from someone in the forum. It's properly skilled so I don't know if it's hacked card or not Confused

Post I got an Ace RB Abbaddon and also happened the same thing as Oraclea, when I try to use him in coli it says is coli locked...also I traded it to my storage account and the trade was smooth, when you have an ilicit/hacked card you get a message right? Or you can traded it?

Just to know if I have to feed it...

So, then, my card must have been in coli on a different account this week, correct? Would you be any more or less suspicious of a hack based on that info?

Was the Vampire coli locked?

My prize was not coli locked (if this info is of any help).

Post Any card can be illicit if not self caught. It can be traded, gifted and so on but if it is illicit, the message could come up at any time. People have stated here that they had a card for like months and used it the colis for weeks and suddenly a message appears. And in some cases it has led to an account ban.

Fortunately I haven't encountered this yet but I know that with every trade there is a risk and it increases every time I do it. I accept that risk. So should you.

Cheers

And no, I didn't get any cards from Spotting. I personally would worry if I got a card from him because one was found to be definitely illicit. If you have another account, have it sit there. If you don't have another account, accept the risk or feed it away.

You are not going to get any definite answers here if the card you got is illicit or not.

Unfortunately no. According to many experienced posters of this forum, it can take months for something to get the illicit message even if it is illicit.

From what I've read it can take time or a lot of trades before something can be detected, if at all, (ie. SE bans a given user before it even shows any signs).

One old thing I read in google is someone suggested stoning your card with a cheap stone to force the server to update the card. I don't know if this is outdated info or still applicable, but apparently 12-24 hours after adding a new stone might help force the illicit message to show up if it remained stealth (in trades) previously. Again, I don't know how accurate this info is but I'm trying it to see if it updates the card. I'll find out tomorrow when I try to trade it to an incubation account if it trades smoothly or not.

Like Mentat said, it's going to be the risk of high end cards given the widespread distribution of questionable cards out there that probably many of us don't realize as it is.

Certainly shakes one's faith and peace of mind with the knowledge of how problematic this issue seems and last week someone of high standing in the forum had a shadow cast on him, now this... I really don't know who to trust anymore. On one hand, for someone like me who does not catch anything worth a hoot, trading is the only solution to get anywhere in this game, but on the other hand... all these questionable cards out there that change hands so many times that no one knows where they came from anymore...

The Vampire was not coli-locked. It's level 42 with a proper skill set at that level.

Also, I couldn't trace the origin of the Poseidon to anything in his rep here.

I'm leaning heavily toward feeding both cards. I (gasp!) don't have a second account, so I can't store them like others have stored their prizes. And the Poseidon is FS, so I can't do the coli stone test.

Just saying.

I am walking this comment back. Was not aware of the condition of the card as the original message was gone by the time I posted. The card is definitely illicit and should be destroyed ASAP.

Still the comment remains true for any cards with + 4 skills they don't naturally learn. I have +4 skilled a card in the past at low levels so I could have it finished.
